A truly tragic story here of how a 86 year old guy mistook his accelerator for the brake and killed 10 people in Santa Monica USA. And I guess this sort of thing is going to be more frequent as the population ages and have to use cars as they live on their own. A smaller version of this happened here in Cambridge UK a few years ago when a child in a pram and its mother (I think) were killed in Kings Parade . When the driver did the same thing when trying to stop coming out of Bene't Street.
An excellent blog at waxy.org here which gave me this link to a site for re-organising all my MP3's that I re-discovered this weekend.

Interesting that the idea of ripping CD's is now filtering down to my more computer illiterate friends. The time must be ripe to offer a ripping service onto a USB hard drive.

And here is a new example of social networking done by upmystreet.com where you can post messages and form a community based on your post code. Came across this snippett about instant crowds "There is this new thing happening in New York, where people arrange to create instant crowds for 10 minutes or so throughout the city. They then leave, with everyone else totally confused why 500 - 600 people are standing around giggling.
Anyone fancy starting some instant crowds in London? Sounds stupid." posted by Scott W in Hackney E9.

Bet Blair and the UK police would find that really scary!!!
