Muddy Boot day

After my hectic night with Sally (see her posts here and here) plus stopping to take a snapshot of  one of the three police cars wrecked on Regent Street we didn’t make it back home till 1am ish.

Mud, Mud glorious mud

Mud, Mud glorious mud

Then today was up and away to be at Cambridge Rambling Clubs ‘A’ walk led by Carolyn with a 9am start from Hardwick across the total overkill of the blue footbridge over the A428  followed by many many muddy fields to Elsworth for a drink at the George & Dragon run by the aptly named Mr & Mrs Beer.

Here is the walk with some great shots of muddy boots:-

Texting on Facebook but not Twitter

Now Twitter have raised an additional $35 million maybe they will re-instate texting updates here in the UK.

If you are on O2 here in the UK then Facebook already allows this to happen on your status updates.

Here is a snippet between Emily and I from today.

My Odd Job day

Today was repair Sally‘s bed day :-) Necessitated by her 6ft+ lad falling on her foot board when playing hide and seek :-) and cruelly snapping it in two.

Good excuse for me to try out my new Erbauer ERB800RL all purpose saw – worked fine although I think it may be to flimsy for the more severe pruning jobs that friends ask me to do!

After which Sally gave me a first rate Indian Head massage and then I installed the new Google Latitude (alas not fully functional for us second rate citizens in the UK) programme whilst Sally had a paying client for a Swedish massage.

We headed off to Kings Lynn for a short walk and tea with Sally’s friend who did the Inca trail a couple of years ago.

Here’s the walk using the very neat Everytrail application on the iPhone:-

Sainsbury’s in the Botanic Gardens

I just pity the poor folks who bought the modernish (1983/84) houses in Bateman Mews, Cambridge. When built they were constructed on three floors so they had good views over the Botanic Gardens. However, due to the generosity of the Sainsbury’s they now overlook this:-

and even when its finished it doesn’t get better. Just look at the height of the new building (use the human figures as a guide).

Sunshine reveals all

Further to my post on icicles. The sun came out today and revealed the real problem. Now to brave a 3 extension ladder and dangle 40 feet up :-(

Update: By leaning out of Emily’s third floor bedroom with one of the boys old billiard stick I managed to push it home. Followed by a judicious use of Geocel Crystal CLEAR Seal & fix sealant and adhesive. Hopefully, no more drips and icicles :-)
